Natchez Trace

The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states. It roughly follows the “Old Natchez Trace” a historic travel corridor used by American Indians, “Kaintucks,” European settlers, slave traders, soldiers, and future presidents.


Vicksburg National Battlefield

Confederate President Jefferson Davis remarked, “Vicksburg is the nailhead that holds the South’s two halves together.” President Abraham Lincoln also realized the necessity to capture Vicksburg. Remarking, “Vicksburg is the key the key! The war can never be brought to a close until that key is in our pocket.”

Lincoln Birth Place – Hodgenville

For over a century people from around the world have come to rural Central Kentucky to honor the humble beginnings of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. The Livermore Bridge is a bridge that carries US-431 over the Green River, near Livermore in McLean County, Kentucky where it crosses over two rivers, and passes over a separate county; the only known such occurrence in the world.

Interesting drive around the state park – 2 lane road, through a one lane tunnel, across a one lane bridge, down a lane and a half road… with two way traffic going 35 mph.

Topiary Park is a 9.182-acre public park and topiary garden in Columbus, Ohio’s Discovery District. The topiary garden is designed to depict figures from George Seurat’s 1884 painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. It is the only park based entirely on a painting.
